The LF-VE runs coil-on-plug ignition: four individual coils, one iridium plug per cylinder. It is one of the easiest jobs on the car, and it cures a surprising number of misfire and rough-idle complaints.
No distributor, no plug wires. Each coil sits directly on its plug under the coil cover.
